SHSU Announces New 办公室 Of 校友 Relations And Annual Giving

山姆 Houston State University’s Annual Giving team have moved from the Development Department to merge with 校友 Relations. This change reflects a new name for the department, 办公室 of 校友 Relations and Annual Giving.  

Merging the two units provides new opportunities for the university by fostering greater transparency, more collaboration and combined efforts on events and activities. 本质上, goal is to create an environment clearly defined for alumni and donors, with improved opportunities for philanthropic investment to the university.

Annual gifts help bridge the gap between education costs and tuition income to fund critical needs such as scholarships, academic programs and student enrichment. Some of the Annual Giving team’s fundraising responsibilities include the Senior Class Legacy campaign, 教师 & 员工活动 和 SHSU Engagement Center.

The 校友 Relations team oversees the 校友会, offering opportunities and programming to help every Bearkat find a way to stay involved and connected to their alma mater. In addition to alumni engagement responsibilities,y also aim to boost student success by providing meaningful involvement through their scholarship program, official ring program, 学生 校友会, 学生奖, alumni mentoring and leadership development. The 校友会 gives over $40,000 in scholarships annually.
